Here’s the details:
My wife and I bought our first place and we knew we had a big task ahead of us to say the least. We lived in the West End for almost 10 years and it was time for some space for us and our two kids.
We took possession Nov 28th at noon and my brother and I got busy right away renovating and painting, starting at 2pm on the 28th and didn’t stop till 15 hours later ..around 5 am on the Saturday morning. And we we’re only half done!
I knew I needed some sleep so I left, but he chose to stay till the paint was gone 🙂 I was up at 8am to go pick up the moving truck and head to the old place and load up thanks to our moving crew.
It took some time but we got everything out that day and moved it all into the new place…wet paint and all, and we made sure to paint the kids room first so they had a nice place to call there own.
Once the dust had settled we got the chance to sit and have a cold beer before sleep took over and the house was quiet once again. And everyone knows a new house/neighborhood can be a hard thing to sleep in but exhaustion made it easy!
The next morning I woke to an early alarm because it was GREY CUP DAY!!!
Downtown for a 9am production meeting then back home to kiss the kids and wife before heading out for the majority of the day. Once again my wife (Super Mom) had a partially unpacked house and two little ones to deal with so I was a bit concerned but she put them to work getting their room sorted and having fun.
One less thing to worry about and now time for my first Grey Cup experience. We’re still settling and doing renovations but it’s our home now and we love it.
